Support
What the houses actually do.
Person-centred plans, written with the person, their family, and the professionals around them. Residents are involved in decisions about their own day and about how the house runs. The published values are dignity, independence, rights, privacy, security, and integrity.
- 01
Huntington’s disease
Help to live with the condition, and to keep as much independence as it allows.
- 02
Dementia
Support built around a person’s life story, with families involved in decisions.
- 03
Autism and learning disability
A plan around strengths and what the person wants from life in Leicester, not only inside the house.
- 04
Behaviours of concern
Staff trained to notice a change, ease distress, and not treat behaviour as the whole person.
- 05
Mental health
Support when symptoms get in the way of ordinary life, aimed at more independence.
- 06
Respite
A break for the person who usually provides care, in a house that already knows complex support.
Group living at Queens Park is for 16 people, which is larger than the good-practice size CQC prefers for learning-disability services. The lodge is the smaller household.
